Ambassadors FC Ohio edged Flower City Union 2–1 in NPSL action on Saturday, with D. Rice opening the scoring in the 57th minute and an A. Spratt own goal extending the hosts' lead before T. Harsch pulled one back for the visitors in the 90th minute.

The first half produced no goals but plenty of tension. Tempers flared just before the break, with Flower City's J. Pena and Ambassadors' R. Gomes de Almeida both picking up yellow cards in the 45th minute.

Ambassadors broke the deadlock twelve minutes into the second half. Rice found the net to make it 1-0, giving the home side something to protect. He was booked himself shortly after, in the 63rd minute, but remained on the pitch.

The hosts doubled their advantage in the 80th minute when Flower City's Spratt turned the ball into his own net — a cruel blow for a side still searching for an equalizer. The own goal seemed to take the wind out of the visitors' sails, though they refused to go quietly.

Harsch gave Flower City a lifeline in the final minute of regulation, cutting the deficit to one. It was too little, too late, however. Ambassadors held firm through the closing moments to secure all three points.

The result gives Ambassadors FC Ohio a valuable home win as the NPSL season pushes deeper into the summer stretch, keeping them in contention during a critical run of fixtures.
