Carolina Ascent FC and Fort Lauderdale United FC shared the points in a 1–1 draw in USL Super League action on Saturday. Mia Corbin opened the scoring for the hosts in the 64th minute before Kathrynn González equalized for Fort Lauderdale in the 82nd.

The first half produced no goals but plenty of needle. Fort Lauderdale's Margot Mace was the first into the referee's book in the eighth minute, and teammate Kelli Van Treeck followed in the 38th. Carolina's Sydney Studer picked up a yellow of her own just before halftime, capping a scrappy opening 45 minutes.

Carolina broke through midway through the second half when Corbin found the net in the 64th minute to give the home side the lead. Fort Lauderdale responded with increased urgency, though Jasmine Hamid's yellow card in the 71st minute threatened to complicate matters for the visitors.

They found their equalizer regardless. Kiara Locklear picked out González in the 82nd minute, and the forward made no mistake to level the match at 1–1. Two minutes later, Corbin — Carolina's goalscorer — was booked, a frustration-fueled yellow that underlined the hosts' disappointment at surrendering the lead.

Neither side could find a winner in the closing stages, and the match ended level.

The draw leaves both teams searching for the kind of consistency that could separate them from the pack as the USL Super League season pushes deeper into the spring stretch.
