Brooklyn FC earned a deserved 0–2 victory at Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC on Independence Day, with Christopher Olney Jr. opening the scoring in the 49th minute and Abdoulaye Kanté sealing it deep in stoppage time.

The first half produced little to separate the sides, with neither team finding the breakthrough before the interval. That changed almost immediately after the restart. Olney Jr. latched onto a pass from Thomas Vancaeyezeele and converted to give Brooklyn a 1–0 lead just four minutes into the second half.

Pittsburgh pushed for an equalizer but grew increasingly frustrated as the half wore on. Trevor Amann was booked in the 69th minute, Albert Dikwa followed in the 76th, and Kelp Lasse picked up a yellow in the 82nd — three cautions in the space of 13 minutes that painted a clear picture of the Riverhounds' mounting desperation. Brooklyn were not immune to the referee's notebook either, with Stefan Stojanovic and Callum Frogson both cautioned.

The home side's urgency left gaps at the back, and Brooklyn punished them in the third minute of stoppage time. Juan Carlos Obregón Jr. played in Kanté, who finished clinically to make it 2–0 and put the result beyond any doubt.

The win gives Brooklyn FC a valuable three points on the road in the USL Championship, while Pittsburgh will look to regroup quickly after a frustrating night in which discipline slipped and they failed to register on the scoresheet.
