Spokane Velocity FC surrendered a three-goal lead as Portland Hearts of Pine salvaged a dramatic 3–3 draw deep into stoppage time in USL League One action on Saturday.

Nil Vinyals was the catalyst for Spokane's dominant first half. He opened the scoring in the 38th minute, finishing off a Joe Gallardo assist, then turned provider just 60 seconds later, setting up Neco Brett to make it 2–0. Vinyals wasn't done. In first-half stoppage time, he delivered another assist as Andre Lewis slotted home to send Spokane into the break with a commanding three-goal cushion.

Portland looked buried. They weren't.

Felipe started the fightback in the 64th minute, converting from a Matteo Kidd delivery. Aboubacar Camara pulled another back in the 73rd, and suddenly the deficit was just one. Spokane began collecting yellow cards — Vinyals was booked in the 75th minute, Moses Mensah in the 86th — and the momentum had shifted decisively toward the visitors.

Portland pressed for the equalizer as the clock wound down. Diego Gonzalez, who had been cautioned himself back in the 62nd minute, rose to the occasion in the eighth minute of second-half stoppage time, completing one of the most remarkable comebacks of the USL League One season. Nick Spielman picked up a yellow for Spokane in the chaotic final moments, capping a second half the hosts would rather forget.

Vinyals finished with a goal and two assists but will be left wondering how his side let all three points slip — a collapse that could prove costly as the regular season enters its final stretch.
