Fort Lauderdale United FC secured a 1-0 victory on the road against Carolina Ascent FC in USL Super League action on Saturday, with Jasmine Hamid netting the only goal of the match in the 71st minute.

The first half produced no goals, with neither side able to find a breakthrough before the interval. The contest remained locked at 0-0 deep into the second half before Hamid struck to give Fort Lauderdale the lead. Her goal shifted the momentum firmly in the visitors' favor and left Carolina chasing the game for the final 19 minutes of regulation.

Carolina's frustration showed late on. Philip Poole was booked in the 87th minute, and Chloe Hylton picked up a yellow card in second-half stoppage time as the hosts pressed desperately for an equalizer that never came. Fort Lauderdale's Lily Nabet was also cautioned in the 90th minute as tensions rose in the closing stages. Despite the late pressure, Carolina couldn't manufacture a clear path back into the match.

Fort Lauderdale saw the game out comfortably enough, collecting all three points away from home — a valuable result that could prove significant as the USL Super League season progresses.
