Rochester NY FC Academy and Flower City Union played out a 1–1 draw in NPSL action on June 10, with A. O'Neill rescuing a point for the hosts deep in stoppage time after R. Chitre had given Flower City the lead early in the second half.

The first half produced no goals, and neither side managed to break the deadlock before the interval. That changed four minutes after the restart when Chitre put Flower City Union ahead in the 49th minute, giving the visitors something to protect for the remainder of the match.

Rochester spent much of the second half chasing the game — and the frustration showed. S. Burton was booked in the 67th minute, J. Hopson followed him into the referee's notebook three minutes later, and A. Grover picked up a yellow in the 88th minute as the hosts grew increasingly desperate.

It looked like Flower City would hold on comfortably. Then, in the 90th minute, O'Neill finished from a K. Nelson delivery to snatch the equalizer and send the Rochester bench into celebration. Flower City's D. Wilmot was booked moments later as tempers flared following the late blow.

Rochester will feel they stole something from a match they trailed for over 40 minutes, while Flower City Union will rue their inability to close it out. Three yellow cards in the final quarter of the game underlined how ragged Rochester's discipline had become before O'Neill's intervention spared them defeat.

The point keeps both sides in the mix as the NPSL season continues to take shape.
