Grove United cruised to a 2–0 victory over DMV Elite FC in NPSL action on Friday, benefiting from a pair of own goals by the visitors to secure all three points without needing to find the net themselves.

DMV Elite FC's troubles started early. Just four minutes in, R. Heinemann turned the ball into his own net to hand Grove United a lead they never looked like surrendering. The hosts had barely settled into the game before the gift arrived, and it set the tone for a comfortable evening.

Grove United's advantage doubled in the 17th minute when R. Roldan, another DMV Elite FC player, put through his own goal to make it 2–0. Two self-inflicted wounds inside the opening 20 minutes left DMV Elite FC chasing the game from a near-impossible position.

The remainder of the match passed without major incident. Neither side added to the scoresheet, and the contest stayed clean throughout — not a single yellow or red card was shown across the 90 minutes. DMV Elite FC simply never generated enough to claw their way back into a game they had effectively lost before the halfway point of the first half.

For Grove United, it was a result they will happily take regardless of how the goals came about. A clean sheet and three points strengthen their NPSL standing, while DMV Elite FC will need to regroup quickly after a night they would rather forget.
