Spokane Velocity FC cruised to a 3–0 victory over Charlotte Independence on Wednesday night, with second-half goals from Luis Gil, Joe Gallardo, and Nil Vinyals sealing a dominant home performance in USL League One action.

The first half produced few clear-cut moments, though tempers simmered — Charlotte's Jefferson Amaya picked up a yellow card in the 36th minute. Neither side managed to break the deadlock before the interval.

Spokane came out sharper after the break. Gil opened the scoring in the 53rd minute, giving the hosts the lead they had been searching for. The goal seemed to knock the wind out of Charlotte, who struggled to mount any sustained pressure in response.

The second goal arrived in the 72nd minute when Gallardo finished off a Simon Fitch delivery to double the advantage. From there, Spokane controlled the game comfortably, keeping Charlotte pinned back and limiting their opportunities to get back into the contest. Andre Lewis was cautioned in the 80th minute for the hosts, but it did little to disrupt their rhythm.

Vinyals put the result beyond any doubt in the 88th minute, converting from a Jack Denton assist to cap off a clinical evening for Velocity. Charlotte, to their credit, kept eleven on the pitch but never looked capable of troubling the scoreboard.

The comprehensive win strengthens Spokane Velocity FC's position in the USL League One standings and extends what is shaping up to be an impressive run of form at home, while Charlotte Independence will need to regroup quickly after a night where they were thoroughly outclassed.
