Spokane Velocity FC cruised to a 2-0 victory over Richmond Kickers on Saturday in USL League One action, with Axel Aldana Gallegos and Ibrahim Janis Covi scoring a goal apiece in the first half to seal all three points on the road.

Spokane wasted little time taking control. Aldana Gallegos opened the scoring in the 10th minute, putting the visitors ahead early and forcing Richmond into a chasing game from the outset. The Kickers struggled to find a response, and Spokane doubled their advantage on the half-hour mark when Covi converted from a Camron Miller delivery to make it 2-0.

Nil Vinyals picked up a yellow card for Spokane just before halftime, but the booking did little to shift momentum. Richmond came out needing a reaction in the second half, and Owen O'Malley's caution in the 57th minute summed up the hosts' frustration as they tried to claw their way back into the contest. It never came. Spokane managed the game comfortably through the final 30 minutes, with Jack Denton collecting a late yellow deep into stoppage time as the visitors saw the match out without any real scares.

Richmond rarely threatened, and the scoreline could have been worse had Spokane shown more cutting edge after the break. As it stood, two first-half goals proved more than enough.

The result gives Spokane Velocity FC a valuable away win as they look to build momentum in the second half of the League One season, while Richmond Kickers will need to regroup quickly after a disappointing night at home.
