Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC came from behind to beat Loudoun United FC 3–2 on the road in USL Championship action on Saturday. Albert Dikwa, Bradley Sample, and Samuel Bassett found the net for the visitors, while Thorleifur Úlfarsson and Sean Young scored for Loudoun in a defeat that slipped away in the second half.

The opening 30 minutes set a frenetic pace. Charles Ahl picked up a yellow card for Pittsburgh in the 16th minute, followed almost immediately by a booking for Loudoun's Noah Adnan. Úlfarsson then broke the deadlock in the 20th minute to give the hosts the lead. It lasted six minutes. Dikwa equalized in the 26th minute to send the teams into the break level at 1–1.

Pittsburgh seized control early in the second half. Sample put the Riverhounds ahead in the 48th minute, finishing off a feed from Dikwa, who turned provider after grabbing his own goal in the first half. Loudoun struggled to respond immediately, and the deficit grew in the 69th minute when Bassett converted from a Charles Ahl delivery to make it 3–1.

Loudoun pulled one back almost instantly. Young cut the lead to one in the 70th minute after a pass from Richard Aman, but the hosts could not find another. Arquimides Ordonez was booked in the 79th minute as Loudoun pushed forward, and Pittsburgh's Jackson Walti saw yellow three minutes later as the Riverhounds managed the closing stages comfortably enough.

The win gives Pittsburgh an early-season boost on the road, while Loudoun will need to shore up a second-half defensive display that cost them a match they led.
