Oakland Roots SC cruised to a convincing 3–0 victory over Phoenix Rising FC in USL Championship action on Saturday, with Bruno Lapa, Daniel Trejo, and Bertin Jacquesson all finding the net in a dominant home performance.

The Roots wasted no time setting the tone. Just seven minutes in, Jesús de Vicente picked out Bruno Lapa, who finished clinically to put Oakland ahead. Phoenix barely had time to regroup before Oakland struck again. Trejo made it 2–0 in the 22nd minute, converting from a Bertin Jacquesson delivery to give the hosts a commanding lead before the half-hour mark.

Phoenix Rising's frustration began to show. Daniel Flores was booked in the 30th minute as the visitors struggled to gain any foothold in the match. The first half belonged entirely to Oakland, and Rising offered little to suggest a comeback was brewing.

The second half followed a similar pattern. Phoenix needed an early goal to shift momentum but couldn't manufacture one. Instead, it was Oakland who added to their tally. Jacquesson, who had set up Trejo's first-half goal, got on the scoresheet himself in the 71st minute, finishing off another incisive move started by de Vicente — who ended the night with two assists. Tate Schmitt picked up a late yellow card for Phoenix in stoppage time as the final minutes trickled away without any consolation for the visitors.

De Vicente was the creative engine behind the result, involved in two of the three goals, while Jacquesson contributed on both ends with a goal and an assist.

The comprehensive win strengthens Oakland Roots SC's position in the USL Championship standings as the regular season enters its closing stretch.
