Union Omaha cruised past Spokane Velocity FC 3–1 on Wednesday night in USL League One action, with Laurence Wootton, Aaron Gómez, and Gabriel de Freitas all finding the net. Nick Spielman grabbed a consolation for the visitors.

The hosts wasted no time setting the tone. Wootton opened the scoring in the sixth minute, converting from an Adrian Billhardt delivery to put Union Omaha ahead. Four minutes later it was 2–0. Younes Boudadi picked out Gómez, who doubled the advantage before Spokane had time to settle.

The two-goal cushion took the urgency out of the contest for long stretches. Spokane picked up bookings through Ibrahim Janis Covi before halftime and Leigh Veidman early in the second half as frustration crept in. Union Omaha's Wootton, the first-half goalscorer, was also cautioned in the 66th minute.

A minute later, Spokane pulled one back. Spielman finished off a Derek Waldeck assist in the 67th minute to cut the deficit to 3–1 and briefly inject life into the visitors' hopes. Spielman was later booked himself in the 78th minute, though, and Spokane never truly threatened an equalizer.

Any lingering doubt was extinguished deep in stoppage time. De Freitas, set up by Sergio Ors, slotted home in the 93rd minute to restore the two-goal margin and seal all three points for the hosts.

The victory keeps Union Omaha firmly in the mix as the USL League One season enters its final stretch, while Spokane's road struggles continue to mount.
