El Paso Locomotive FC cruised to a 2–0 victory over Sporting JAX on Friday night, with goals from Amando Moreno in the 15th minute and Rubio Rubín in the 83rd to secure all three points in USL Championship action.

The match got chippy early. Both Tony Alfaro and Ryan Edwards were booked inside the opening six minutes, setting an abrasive tone that persisted throughout. El Paso channeled that energy into attack, and Moreno broke the deadlock in the 15th minute to give Locomotive the lead heading into the break. Sporting JAX picked up another yellow before halftime through Tyshawn Rose, compounding what was becoming a frustrating evening for the visitors.

The second half brought more of the same. Raheem Sommersall was cautioned in the 56th minute as JAX struggled to find a foothold in the game. Despite needing a goal, the visitors couldn't generate sustained pressure, and their discipline continued to slip.

El Paso put the result beyond doubt seven minutes from time. Eric Calvillo threaded a pass to Rubío Rubín, who finished clinically to double the advantage. Harvey Neville picked up JAX's fourth booking of the night in the 88th minute, and Arturo Ortíz was also cautioned for El Paso in stoppage time, but by then the contest was well and truly over. Six yellow cards across the 90 minutes told the story of a scrappy, physical affair that El Paso handled far better than their opponents.

The win gives Locomotive valuable momentum at home and keeps them in the hunt as the USL Championship season pushes toward its latter stages.
