Carolina Ascent FC came from behind — or rather, never trailed — in a 2–1 victory over Spokane Zephyr FC on Thursday night, with Rylee Baisden scoring twice to seal all three points on the road.

The first half passed without a goal, but Carolina broke the deadlock in the 59th minute. Audrey Coleman picked out Baisden, who finished to give the visitors a deserved lead. Nine minutes later, Baisden struck again, this time converting from a Mackenzie George delivery to double Carolina's advantage. It was a clinical spell from Ascent, who punished Spokane twice in the space of ten minutes.

The Zephyr pushed for a way back into the contest. Coleman was cautioned in the 76th minute as Carolina looked to manage the game, but Spokane did pull one back five minutes later through Ally Cook, cutting the deficit to one with under ten minutes remaining.

That late goal injected urgency into the closing stages, but Carolina held firm. Spokane pressed for an equalizer that never came, and the visitors saw out the final minutes to secure the win.

The result gives Carolina Ascent FC a valuable three points in the USL Super League standings, while Spokane Zephyr FC will rue a sluggish response to falling behind — Cook's goal ultimately arriving too late to spark a genuine comeback.
