Detroit City FC and El Paso Locomotive FC played out a 1–1 draw in USL Championship action on Wednesday night, with Amando Moreno and Abdoulaye Diop trading goals either side of halftime.

The first half was a scrappy affair marked by early bookings. Detroit's Haruki Yamazaki picked up a yellow card in the sixth minute, and teammate Aedan Stanley followed him into the referee's notebook in the 30th. El Paso weathered whatever pressure Detroit applied and struck first late in the half. Moreno found the net in the 42nd minute, finishing off a feed from Eric Calvillo to give the Locomotive a 1–0 lead heading into the break. Alex Méndez was cautioned two minutes later as tempers flared before the whistle.

Detroit needed a quick response in the second half and got one. Just four minutes after the restart, Diop equalized in the 49th minute, converting from a Preston Tabort Etaka delivery to level the match at 1–1. The goal shifted momentum back toward the home side and forced El Paso to regroup.

Calvillo, who had set up Moreno's opener, was booked in the 69th minute — a yellow card that limited his influence in the final stretch. Neither side could find a winner despite the remaining twenty-plus minutes, and the game ended level.

The draw leaves both teams searching for the kind of consistency needed to make a push in the USL Championship standings, with points shared on a night when neither could capitalize on their momentum for long enough to claim all three.
