Tampa Bay Sun FC came from behind in the second half — or rather, stayed ahead — to beat Carolina Ascent FC 2–1 on the road Saturday night in USL Super League action. Shea Connors opened the scoring for Tampa Bay in the 24th minute, Reese Tappan equalized for Carolina in the 68th, and Sydny Nasello restored the visitors' lead just seven minutes later to seal the result.

Tampa Bay took control early. Connors found the net midway through the first half, giving the Sun a deserved advantage heading into the break. Carolina struggled to generate consistent pressure in the opening 45 minutes and went into halftime trailing by a goal.

The hosts came out with more urgency after the interval. Tappan pulled Carolina level in the 68th minute, finishing from a Jillienne Aguilera delivery to make it 1–1 and shift momentum firmly toward the home side. The equalizer felt like it could spark a comeback.

It didn't last. Nasello answered quickly in the 75th minute, latching onto a ball from Darya Rajaee to put Tampa Bay back in front at 2–1. The goal knocked the wind out of Carolina, who had briefly looked the more dangerous side. The Ascent pushed for another equalizer in the closing stages but couldn't find a way through, and Tampa Bay saw out the final minutes without serious alarm.

The win gives Tampa Bay Sun FC a valuable three points on the road and could prove significant in what is shaping up to be a tight USL Super League season.
