Charleston Battery dismantled Brooklyn FC 5–0 at home on Saturday, with five different scorers — Wilmer Cabrera (1'), Maalique Foster (43'), Laurent Kissiedou (54'), Miguel Berry (57'), and Emilio Ycaza (90') — combining for the rout in USL Championship action.

The tone was set almost immediately. Cabrera needed less than a minute to open the scoring, finishing from a Miguel Berry feed to put Charleston ahead before Brooklyn had time to settle. The hosts controlled possession from there, though Douglas Martínez picked up a yellow card in the 21st minute. Foster doubled the lead just before halftime, making it 2–0 heading into the break.

Brooklyn came out needing a response in the second half. They got the opposite. Kissiedou made it three in the 54th minute, converting after good work from Foster, and just three minutes later Berry got on the scoresheet himself, latching onto a Kissiedou pass to push the advantage to four. The quick-fire combination between Kissiedou and Berry effectively ended the contest before the hour mark.

The game grew increasingly scrappy in the final 15 minutes. Charleston collected four yellow cards between the 77th and 90th minutes — Ben Pirmann, Kissiedou, Luis Zamudio, and Berry all going into the referee's notebook — while Brooklyn's Tommy McNamara and Callum Frogson were also cautioned. Ycaza added a fifth in stoppage time, heading or finishing from a Nathan Messer delivery to complete the demolition.

The emphatic victory strengthens Charleston Battery's position in the USL Championship standings and raises serious questions about a Brooklyn FC side that was outclassed from the opening whistle.
