Northern Virginia FC and Lancaster Inferno played out a goalless draw in their USL W League meeting on Wednesday night, with neither side able to find a breakthrough across 90 minutes.

Chances were at a premium in a contest that failed to produce a single goal, yellow card, or red card. Both defenses held firm throughout, keeping the match scoreless from start to finish in what proved to be a disciplined affair on both sides of the ball.

Northern Virginia will feel they should have done more on home turf, but Lancaster's rearguard gave them little to work with. The Inferno, for their part, couldn't muster enough going forward to claim all three points on the road.

The 0-0 result sees both teams pick up a point apiece, a share of the spoils that is unlikely to satisfy either side as the USL W League season progresses.
