Fort Wayne FC cruised to a 1–3 victory at Corpus Christi FC on Wednesday night, with goals from Javier Armas (33'), Kabiru Gafar (37'), and Tiago Dias (79') sealing all three points on the road. Emmanuel Johnson (83') grabbed a late consolation for the hosts.
The first half hour was cagey, with Fort Wayne's Aleksandar Vukovic picking up a yellow card in the 27th minute. But the visitors broke through six minutes later when Armas finished from a Taig Healy delivery to make it 1–0. Corpus Christi barely had time to regroup. Just four minutes later, Kabiru Gafar doubled Fort Wayne's lead, converting off a pass from Clarence Awoudor. The quick-fire combination left the home side reeling heading into the break.
Corpus Christi came out needing a response in the second half but struggled to create clear openings. The frustration showed — Shannon Gomez was booked in the 78th minute as challenges grew more desperate. A minute later, Fort Wayne put the game beyond doubt. Tiago Dias latched onto a Jack Thomas assist to slot home the third, effectively ending the contest.
To their credit, Corpus Christi didn't fold entirely. Johnson pulled one back in the 83rd minute to briefly lift the home crowd, but it was nothing more than a consolation. Parker Vasic and Blake Bowen both collected yellows in the closing stages as tempers frayed in a match that had long slipped away from the hosts.
The result marks another difficult night for Corpus Christi FC, who will need to turn their home form around quickly if they hope to stay in the USL League One playoff picture.
