Charleston Battery completed a dramatic comeback to beat Birmingham Legion FC 3–2 in USL Championship action on Saturday, with Emilio Ycaza striking deep into stoppage time to seal all three points. Romario Williams and Samuel Shashoua had Birmingham ahead early, but goals from Colton Swan and a Ycaza brace turned the match on its head.
Birmingham looked in full control after a blistering two-minute spell midway through the first half. Williams opened the scoring in the 25th minute, and Shashoua doubled the lead just two minutes later, leaving Charleston staring at a deficit heading into the break.
The Battery came out with more urgency after halftime. Swan pulled one back in the 58th minute to cut the deficit to one, and the home side continued to press. Phanuel Kavita picked up a yellow card for Birmingham in the 78th minute as the visitors tried to hold on, but Ycaza leveled the score in the 80th minute to make it 2–2
