Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC held off Hartford Athletic 2–1 at home on Saturday, with Trevor Amann and Charles Ahl finding the net to secure all three points in USL Championship action. Michee Ngalina pulled one back for Hartford, but it wasn't enough.

The Riverhounds wasted no time getting on the board. Amann opened the scoring in the sixth minute, finishing off a chance created by Ahl to give Pittsburgh an early lead. Hartford struggled to settle, with Sadat Anaku picking up a yellow card in the 13th minute. Amann himself was booked shortly after in the 21st minute — a caution that forced the goalscorer to tread carefully for the remainder of his night.

Hartford found their footing as the half wore on. Ngalina equalized four minutes before the break, converting from an Emmanuel Samadia assist to send the sides into halftime level at 1–1.

The deadlock didn't last deep into the second half. Ahl, who had set up the opener, got on the scoresheet himself in the 66th minute, latching onto a Robbie Mertz delivery to restore Pittsburgh's advantage. This time, the Riverhounds managed the game well enough to protect the lead through the final stretch, conceding nothing of consequence despite some late pressure.

The win keeps Pittsburgh firmly in the conversation as the USL Championship regular season enters its final weeks, a result that could prove significant in the push for playoff positioning.
