Indy Eleven ground out a 2–0 victory over Charleston Battery on Independence Day, with Josh O'Brien breaking the deadlock in the 82nd minute and Bruno Manuel Rendón adding a stoppage-time second in the 90+4' to seal all three points in USL Championship action.

A cagey first half produced little in the way of goals but plenty of needle. Charleston's Jeremy Kelly was the first into the referee's notebook in the 18th minute, and Indy picked up back-to-back yellows through Aodhan Quinn and Jack Blake in the 35th and 36th minutes respectively as tempers flared.

The second half followed a similar pattern for long stretches, with neither side able to find a breakthrough. Graham Smith was cautioned for Charleston in the 68th minute as the Battery tried to contain Indy's pressure.

The hosts finally found the opener with eight minutes remaining. Makel Rasheed picked out O'Brien, who made no mistake to put Indy ahead 1–0. Charleston pushed forward in search of an equalizer, but that urgency left them exposed at the back. Laurent Kissiedou received a yellow card in the 90+2' as frustration set in for the visitors, and two minutes later Blake — booked earlier in the match — turned provider, setting up Rendón to double the lead and put the result beyond doubt.

The win gives Indy Eleven valuable points at home and strengthens their position in the Championship standings as the season moves past its midway point.
