Tampa Bay Sun FC came from behind to beat Fort Lauderdale United FC 2–1 in USL Super League action on Saturday, with Tori Waldeck and Shea Connors scoring second-half goals to overturn an early deficit. Sh'nia Gordon had given the visitors the lead in the 24th minute.

Fort Lauderdale struck first when Gordon latched onto a Farrah Walters assist to make it 1–0. The goal gave the visitors control of the opening half, and Tampa Bay's frustration showed. The Sun picked up three yellow cards in the space of four minutes — Leah Scarpelli in the 31st, Kelsey Hill in the 32nd, and Jordyn Listro in the 34th — a run of indiscipline that threatened to derail their evening. Fort Lauderdale's Nicole Vernis was also cautioned before the break, as the match grew increasingly fractious heading into halftime.

Tampa Bay regrouped after the interval. Waldeck equalized in the 65th minute, finishing off a Sydny Nasello delivery to level the score at 1–1. The goal shifted momentum decisively. Sixteen minutes later, Connors put the Sun ahead for good, converting from a Sabrina McNeill assist to make it 2–1 in the 81st minute.

Fort Lauderdale pushed for a late equalizer but couldn't find one. Kiara Locklear and Emily Thompson both received yellow cards in the closing stages as the visitors' desperation grew.

The comeback victory gives Tampa Bay Sun FC three crucial points at home and continues to establish their credentials in a competitive USL Super League season.
