Lexington SC dismantled Fort Lauderdale United FC 5–1 at home on Thursday night in USL Super League action, with Sarah Griffith scoring twice and four other players getting on the scoresheet in a dominant performance.

Lexington took control early. Shea Moyer opened the scoring in the 17th minute, finishing off a Taylor Aylmer delivery to put the hosts ahead. Eight minutes later, Griffith doubled the lead, converting from an Addie McCain pass to make it 2–0. Fort Lauderdale's Bella Hara picked up a yellow card in the 27th minute as the visitors' frustration began to show, but Lexington were relentless. Griffith grabbed her second just before halftime, striking in the 43rd minute — this time unassisted — to send the teams into the break at 3–0.

The second half brought more of the same. McCain, who had set up Griffith's first goal, got one of her own in the 67th minute, latching onto an Emina Ekic feed to extend the advantage to four. Catherine Barry then added a fifth in the 78th minute, finishing from a Tatiana Fung pass. Fung had been booked five minutes earlier, one of three yellow cards shown on the night alongside Fort Lauderdale's Hara and Jasmine Hamid.

Fort Lauderdale avoided the shutout late on when Lilly McCarthy pulled one back in the 81st minute off a Kelli Van Treeck assist, but it was nothing more than a consolation.

The comprehensive victory underlines Lexington SC's quality at home and could prove significant in a tightly contested USL Super League season.
