AC Newport and Santa Cruz FC played out a 2–2 draw in NPSL action on Wednesday, with all four goals coming inside the opening 75 minutes. B. Schwab opened the scoring early for Santa Cruz, while C. Prouty and P. Baisch responded quickly for Newport before E. Conceicao leveled for the visitors late in the second half.

Santa Cruz struck first. Schwab found the net in the ninth minute to give his side the lead, but it didn't last long. Prouty equalized just five minutes later, and Baisch completed the turnaround in the 19th minute to put AC Newport ahead 2–1. A frantic opening 20 minutes gave way to a scrappier middle stretch.

The game grew increasingly physical as the first half wound down. J. De Souza De Aquino was cautioned in the 26th minute, and F. Taylor picked up a yellow shortly before the break. Santa Cruz found their equalizer through Conceicao in the 75th minute, dragging the visitors level at 2–2. Three minutes later, Conceicao was shown a yellow card, a booking that will need monitoring ahead of future fixtures. K.
