Detroit City FC beat Indy Eleven 2–0 at home on Saturday, scoring twice in quick succession early in the second half to claim all three points in USL Championship play. Rafael Mentzingen opened the scoring in the 47th minute before Maximiliano Rodríguez doubled the lead in the 52nd, putting the result beyond doubt before the hour mark.

The first half was a scoreless but fractious affair. Rodríguez picked up a yellow card in the 11th minute, and teammate Haruki Yamazaki followed him into the referee's notebook in the 35th. Despite the cautions, Detroit City entered the break level and came out with clear intent.

Just two minutes after the restart, Mentzingen latched onto a pass from Aedan Stanley and finished to make it 1–0. Five minutes later, it was Mentzingen turning provider, setting up Rodríguez — already walking a disciplinary tightrope after his first-half booking — to fire home the second. Alasanne Ates Diouf then collected Detroit's third yellow of the night in the 55th minute as the contest grew increasingly chippy.

Indy Eleven offered little in response. The visitors' frustration showed late on as the cards piled up — Makel Rasheed was cautioned in the 83rd minute, Bruno Manuel Rendón in the 87th, Cameron Lindley in the 89th, and Alejandro Mitrano in stoppage time. Four bookings in the final ten minutes painted a clear picture of a team chasing the game with increasing desperation and diminishing composure.

The win gives Detroit City FC valuable home points as the season enters its second-half stretch, while Indy Eleven will need to regroup quickly after a disciplined collapse down the stretch.
