Westchester SC snatched all three points in dramatic fashion, beating New York Cosmos 1–2 thanks to Conor McGlynn's stoppage-time winner in the 98th minute. Koen Blommestijn and McGlynn scored for the visitors, while Philip Spengler had briefly pulled the Cosmos level late in the second half.

The match got its first flashpoint early when Cosmos midfielder Sergio Chavez was booked in the 10th minute. Neither side could break the deadlock through the opening stages, but Westchester struck just before the interval. Blommestijn found the net in first-half stoppage time to send the visitors into the break with a 1–0 lead.

The Cosmos chased the game throughout the second half and finally found their equalizer in the 82nd minute. Spengler finished from a Néstor Cabrera delivery to make it 1–1, and the home side looked to have rescued a point. Christian Koffi picked up a yellow card three minutes later as the contest grew increasingly tense.

Then came the decisive blow. Deep into added time, McGlynn converted from an Ermin Mackic assist in the 98th minute to restore Westchester's advantage. McGlynn was immediately booked — presumably for his celebration — but the damage was done. There was no time for the Cosmos to mount another comeback.

The result hands Westchester SC a valuable three points on the road and will sting a Cosmos side that appeared to have done enough to earn a draw before McGlynn's late intervention shifted the momentum in the USL League One standings.
