J. Rosero struck three times as OSNER'S FC cruised to a 3–1 home victory over American Soccer Club New York in NPSL action on July 1. Rosero opened the scoring in the 17th minute, added a second shortly after halftime in the 61st, and completed his hat trick in the 70th. T. Swaby grabbed ASCNY's only goal just before the break.
Rosero gave the hosts the lead early, putting OSNER'S FC ahead with less than 20 minutes on the clock. The game grew physical through the middle of the first half — J. Gil Mejia picked up a yellow card in the 29th minute, and ASCNY's P. Kabulu and K. Mondesir were both cautioned within four minutes of each other. Swaby pulled American Soccer Club New York level in the 43rd minute, sending the teams into halftime at 1–1.
Whatever was said in the OSNER'S FC dressing room at the break clearly worked. Rosero restored the lead in the 61st minute and then sealed the result nine minutes later to complete his hat trick. ASCNY had no answer in the final 20 minutes, and B. Walker's 84th-minute yellow card for OSNER'S FC was the only notable incident as the hosts saw the game out comfortably.
The win gives OSNER'S FC valuable momentum in the NPSL season, with Rosero's match ball performance the kind of individual display that can carry a side through a long summer schedule.
