Lexington SC cruised to a 1–3 away victory over Fort Lauderdale United FC in USL Super League action on Saturday, with Catherine Barry scoring twice and McKenzie Weinert adding another to leave the hosts chasing shadows for much of the contest.

Lexington wasted no time setting the tone. Weinert opened the scoring in the eighth minute, finishing from an Emina Ekic delivery to put the visitors ahead early. Fort Lauderdale barely had time to regroup before Barry doubled the lead in the 26th minute, giving Lexington a commanding two-goal cushion heading into the break.

The second half brought more of the same. Barry struck again in the 58th minute to complete her brace and make it 3–0, effectively killing the game as a contest. Weinert picked up a yellow card in the 53rd minute — a booking that carried little consequence given Lexington's comfortable position on the scoresheet.

Fort Lauderdale did manage a consolation goal in the 80th minute when Jasmine Hamid converted from a Daniela Todd assist, but by then the damage was long done. The home side never looked capable of mounting a serious comeback, and Lexington saw out the final ten minutes without trouble.

It was a clinical road performance from Lexington SC, who controlled the match from the early stages and never let Fort Lauderdale back into it. Barry's two-goal display was the standout, but the entire attacking unit looked sharp throughout. The result strengthens Lexington's position in the USL Super League standings and leaves Fort Lauderdale with serious questions to answer heading into February.
