Niagara 1812 and Flower City Union played out a wild 3–3 draw in NPSL action on Tuesday, with R. Gomes de Almeida's quick-fire brace, goals from A. Murphy, J. Cardona Belalcazar, T. Mudzurahona, and a late F. Cugge equalizer ensuring the points were shared.

The first half hour offered little hint of what was to come. Then Gomes de Almeida broke the deadlock in the 29th minute and struck again just 60 seconds later to put Niagara 1812 up 2–0. The hosts looked in complete control. They weren't for long. Cardona Belalcazar pulled one back for Flower City Union in the 32nd minute, turning a comfortable lead into a contest within three minutes of the opening goal. Mudzurahona then leveled things right before halftime, capping a remarkable stretch that produced four goals in 16 minutes.

Niagara 1812 regained the lead nine minutes into the second half through Murphy, who made it 3–2 in the 54th minute. The hosts dug in from there, and the match grew increasingly fractious as the final quarter approached. Flower City Union picked up bookings through D. Leardini in the 77th minute and Cardona Belalcazar two minutes later, while Niagara's R. Fitzgerald was cautioned in the 84th.

Flower City Union kept pushing, though, and Cugge delivered the payoff in the 85th minute, leveling the score at 3–3. He picked up a yellow card of his own in stoppage time, but by then the damage — or the rescue, depending on perspective — was done.

The draw leaves both sides still searching for the kind of consistency needed to stake a claim in the NPSL standings this summer.
