Gio's Lions SC Chicago edged Southern Indiana Guardians FC 4–3 in an NPSL contest on June 20, with A. Martinto's hat trick proving the difference. Y. Lakhlifi matched him with a hat trick of his own for the visitors, while A. Lopez also found the net for Southern Indiana, but it was not enough to deny the hosts all three points.

R. Gonnella picked up a yellow card inside the opening minute for Southern Indiana, setting an aggressive tone early. The first half otherwise belonged to the two standout forwards. Martinto opened the scoring in the 18th minute, giving Chicago the lead. Lakhlifi equalized on the half-hour mark, but Martinto answered emphatically — striking twice in three minutes, in the 37th and 40th, to complete his hat trick and send the hosts into the break with a 3–1 cushion.

Southern Indiana came out swinging after halftime. Lakhlifi pulled one back in the 49th minute and leveled the match just three minutes later to complete his own hat trick, making it 3–3. Lopez then gave the Guardians their first lead of the game in the 59th minute. Chicago, though, found a way back to retake the lead and hold on.
