Forward Madison FC cruised to a 2–0 victory over Portland Hearts of Pine on Saturday, with Ryan Carmichael scoring twice to seal all three points in USL League One action.

Carmichael needed just five minutes to open the scoring, giving the home side an early cushion that set the tone for the rest of the evening. Portland struggled to find a foothold in the opening stages and their frustration began to show. Michel Poon-Angeron picked up a yellow card in the 16th minute, the first of three bookings the visitors would collect across the match.

Portland's discipline continued to unravel as the first half wore on. Joshua Drack was cautioned in the 39th minute, and just a minute later Carmichael doubled his tally to make it 2–0 heading into the break. The timing was brutal for Hearts of Pine — any momentum from regrouping at halftime was already undermined by a two-goal deficit.

The second half offered little in the way of a Portland comeback. Serigne Faye was booked on the hour mark as the visitors' frustration mounted, and Forward Madison managed the game comfortably without needing to push for a third. Portland never seriously threatened to pull one back, and the hosts saw out the final 30 minutes with relative ease.

The win strengthens Forward Madison's position in the League One standings, while Portland's road struggles continue with a disciplined but ultimately toothless performance that yielded three yellow cards and zero goals.
