AV ALTA FC and Richmond Kickers shared the points in a 1–1 draw in USL League One action on Saturday. Joshua Kirkland opened the scoring early for the visitors, while Jerry Desdunes equalized for the hosts midway through the first half.

Richmond wasted no time making their intentions known. Kirkland struck in the ninth minute to give the Kickers a lead and put AV ALTA on the back foot from the start. The early deficit forced the home side into a response, and they found one through Desdunes in the 26th minute, pulling level before halftime.

The second half proved scrappier. Nicholas Relerford picked up a yellow card for AV ALTA in the 50th minute, and Richmond's Dakota Barnathan followed him into the referee's notebook just two minutes later. Mujeeb Murana was also cautioned for the Kickers in the 74th minute as challenges grew more frequent. Kaloyan Pehlivanov received a late booking for AV ALTA deep into stoppage time, but neither side could find a breakthrough despite the increased urgency.

Neither team managed to create a decisive moment after the break, and the match ended level. Both sides had their chances — Richmond with the fast start, AV ALTA with the response — but neither could sustain enough pressure to claim all three points.

The draw leaves both teams searching for their first win as the early weeks of the USL League One season take shape, with neither side able to afford too many shared spoils if they harbor playoff ambitions.
