Gio's Lions SC Chicago earned a 1–2 victory away at Wisconsin Conquerors FC in NPSL action on Friday, with goals from J. Fernandez and an own goal by H. Lorenzo proving enough despite a second-half reply from C. El Mokrie El Idrissi.

The visitors took an early lead through fortunate circumstances. Lorenzo, a Wisconsin Conquerors defender, put the ball into his own net in the ninth minute to hand Gio's Lions an advantage they never relinquished. Chicago doubled their lead midway through the first half when Fernandez struck in the 35th minute, leaving the hosts with a significant deficit heading into the break.

Wisconsin's frustration showed before halftime. N. Dimitrijevic picked up a yellow card in the 42nd minute, and R. Gonnella followed him into the referee's notebook three minutes later as the Conquerors struggled to find a foothold.

The home side came out with more urgency after the interval. El Mokrie El Idrissi pulled one back in the 58th minute to set up a tense final half-hour. Wisconsin pressed for an equalizer, but Gio's Lions held firm through the closing stages. The visitors picked up a pair of yellow cards in the 90th minute — A. Amaadour and M. Motilal both cautioned as tempers flared late — but Chicago saw out the result without further damage.

The win gives Gio's Lions SC Chicago valuable points on the road and extends a difficult stretch for Wisconsin Conquerors FC, who will need to tighten up defensively if they hope to climb the NPSL standings this summer.
