Las Vegas Lights FC and Hartford Athletic played out a 1–1 draw in USL Championship action on Saturday, with Michee Ngalina opening the scoring for the visitors in the 33rd minute before Manuel Arteaga equalized for the hosts in the 70th.

Hartford came out aggressive — perhaps too aggressive. Jordan Scarlett picked up a yellow card in the 13th minute, Britton Fischer followed in the 21st, and Abdullah Taofeek was booked in the 27th. Three cautions in the space of 14 minutes set an edgy tone early on. Despite the disciplinary issues, it was Hartford who struck first. Ngalina found the net in the 33rd minute to give Athletic a deserved lead heading into halftime.

Las Vegas struggled to find a foothold in the first half but emerged with more urgency after the break. The Lights picked up a yellow of their own through Carson Locker in the 67th minute, and Hartford's Christos Hadjipaschalis was cautioned a minute later as tensions simmered. Then Arteaga delivered. The forward leveled the match in the 70th minute, pulling Las Vegas back into a contest that had looked like slipping away from them.

Neither side could find a winner in the final 20 minutes, though Hartford's collection of bookings — four yellows across the match — forced the visitors to tread carefully down the stretch, limiting their ability to press for a second goal.

The draw leaves both teams sharing the spoils in a result that does little to shift the picture for either side as the regular season enters its closing stretch.
