Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC edged Detroit City FC 2–1 at home on Saturday, with Albert Dikwa scoring both goals to secure all three points in USL Championship action. Dikwa opened the scoring in just the second minute before adding the winner in the 83rd, while Chisom Egbuchulam pulled one back for Detroit deep into stoppage time.

The Hounds wasted no time getting on the front foot. Dikwa latched onto a Perrin Barnes pass and finished inside 120 seconds to put Pittsburgh ahead before Detroit could settle into the match. The early goal seemed to fire up both sides — Robbie Mertz picked up a yellow card in the sixth minute, and the first half carried an edge throughout, with Jackson Walti also booked just before the break.

Despite controlling the scoreline, Pittsburgh couldn't find a second for most of the contest. Detroit stayed in the fight but struggled to create clear-cut chances of their own. The Riverhounds picked up two more yellow cards in the second half through Charles Ahl and Nico Campuzano, giving referee plenty of work across the 90 minutes — four bookings for the home side alone.

Dikwa finally delivered some breathing room in the 83rd minute, striking his second of the night to make it 2–0. It proved crucial. Egbuchulam converted from a Darren Smith assist in the second minute of stoppage time to halve the deficit, but it came far too late to mount a genuine comeback. Smith was then booked moments later as Detroit's frustration boiled over.

The win gives Pittsburgh a valuable early-season home result as they look to establish momentum in the Championship standings.
