Oakland Roots SC and FC Tulsa shared the points in a 1–1 draw at Oakland on Saturday in USL Championship action. Wolfgang Prentice opened the scoring early for the hosts, while Bailey Sparks equalized midway through the second half to earn Tulsa a road point.

Roots came out sharp. Just four minutes in, Michael Edwards played a ball to Prentice, who made no mistake to put Oakland ahead. It was the kind of start any home side dreams of, and for large stretches of the first half, Roots looked comfortable with the lead.

The match grew feisty as it wore on. Neveal Hackshaw picked up a yellow card in the 28th minute for Oakland, and FC Tulsa's Lucas Stauffer was booked a minute later. Jesús de Vicente joined Hackshaw in the referee's notebook before the hour mark, and Tulsa's Abdoulaye
