Charlotte Independence cruised to a commanding 3–0 victory over New York Cosmos in USL League One action on Saturday, with goals from Christopher Jaime (18'), Joseph Skinner (41'), and Souaibou Marou (52') sealing a comfortable home win.

Charlotte wasted little time setting the tone. Jaime opened the scoring in the 18th minute, finishing off a pass from Jon Bakero to give the Independence an early lead. The hosts continued to press, and their persistence paid off before halftime when Skinner doubled the advantage in the 41st minute, converting from a Jaime delivery. Charlotte took a two-goal cushion into the break with the Cosmos offering little in response.

Any hopes of a New York comeback evaporated early in the second half. Marou made it 3–0 in the 52nd minute, with Skinner turning provider after his first-half goal. The sequence of assists told its own story — Jaime assisted Skinner, Skinner assisted Marou — as Charlotte's attacking players linked up seamlessly throughout the match.

The Cosmos struggled to create meaningful chances and saw Davide Materazzi pick up a yellow card in the 59th minute as frustration crept in. Matt Levy was booked for Charlotte in the 85th minute, and Séga Coulibaly received a late caution deep into stoppage time, but neither card carried much consequence with the result long settled.

The emphatic scoreline underlines Charlotte Independence's strong form at home this season and keeps them firmly in the hunt as the USL League One campaign enters its final stretch.
