Charlotte Independence dismantled Greenville Triumph SC 3-0 on the road Saturday night, with Souaibou Marou scoring all three goals to claim a dominant hat trick in USL League One action.

The match was physical from the start. Charlotte's Prince Saydee picked up a yellow card in the 22nd minute, setting an aggressive tone early. Five minutes later, Marou opened the scoring, finishing off a pass from Joseph Skinner to give the Independence a 1-0 lead. Greenville's frustration began to show quickly — Brandon Fricke was booked in the 34th minute, and Rodrigo Robles followed him into the referee's notebook before halftime with a yellow of his own in the 43rd.

Charlotte took their one-goal advantage into the break and managed the game well in the second half. Séga Coulibaly was cautioned in the 63rd minute as the Independence continued to play on the front foot without losing their discipline where it mattered most.

Marou doubled the lead in the 75th minute, this time without an assist, before completing his hat trick nine minutes later. Jon Bakero, who had been booked just three minutes earlier, played provider for the third, setting up Marou to seal a comprehensive victory.

Greenville never found an answer. The Triumph failed to generate enough going forward, and the scoreline reflected Charlotte's control across all 90 minutes. Marou was the clear difference-maker — clinical when it counted and unplayable in the final third.

The result strengthens Charlotte Independence's position in the USL League One standings as the season enters its closing stretch, while Greenville will need to regroup quickly after a difficult night at home.
