American Soccer Club New York secured a 2–0 victory over Santa Cruz FC in NPSL action on Saturday, with B. Brown and A. Kolbe finding the net in a comfortable home win.

Brown opened the scoring in the 29th minute to give ASC New York the lead heading toward halftime. The goal seemed to unsettle Santa Cruz, and the visitors struggled to generate a meaningful response before the break. K. Lundstrom Svahnqvist picked up a yellow card in the 31st minute for ASC New York, just two minutes after Brown's opener, while F. Taylor was also cautioned right at the stroke of halftime.

Despite carrying two bookings into the second half, ASC New York remained the more dangerous side. Kolbe doubled the advantage in the 51st minute, effectively putting the result beyond doubt early in the second period. Santa Cruz FC offered little resistance from that point, unable to break down a disciplined home side that managed the game well with a two-goal cushion.

Neither team saw a red card, and the contest played out without major controversy in the final 40 minutes — a professional job seen through by the hosts.

The win gives American Soccer Club New York valuable points in the NPSL standings and builds momentum heading deeper into the summer schedule.
