District Elite FC cruised to a 3–0 victory over Virginia Dream FC in NPSL action on Saturday, with A. Tewodros scoring twice and T. Johnson adding a late third to seal a comfortable win.

Tewodros opened the scoring in the 13th minute, giving District Elite an early cushion that set the tone for the rest of the match. The first half grew increasingly fractious from there. B. Zavala-Lopez picked up a yellow card for District Elite in the 37th minute, while Virginia Dream's K. Morinaga was booked in the 21st.

The second half brought more of the same — more cards and more goals for the home side. Virginia Dream's M. Brown was cautioned in the 52nd minute before Tewodros struck again in the 58th to double the advantage. His brace effectively ended the contest as a meaningful competition.

The bookings kept coming. C. Prendergast saw yellow for Virginia Dream in the 62nd minute, followed by District Elite's L. Emson in the 69th and J. Boamah in the 74th. N. Medina joined the growing list of cautioned Virginia Dream players in the 82nd minute. In total, referee's notebook recorded eight yellow cards across the two sides — five for Virginia Dream, three for District Elite.

Johnson put the finishing touch on the result in the 90th minute, completing the 3–0 rout just as J. Geist received yet another yellow card for the visitors.

The emphatic win gives District Elite FC valuable momentum heading deeper into the NPSL season, while Virginia Dream FC will need to regroup quickly after a disciplined and defeated afternoon on the road.
