Carolina Ascent FC earned a 1-0 victory over DC Power FC on Friday night, with Rylee Baisden's second-half strike proving the difference in this USL Super League clash.

The first half produced no goals, with neither side able to find a breakthrough before the interval. The deadlock held until the 57th minute, when Baisden latched onto a pass from Emily Morris and converted to put Carolina Ascent ahead.

DC Power pushed for an equalizer but grew frustrated as the minutes ticked away. Katelyn Duong was cautioned in the 78th minute, and Carolina Ascent's Mia Corbin picked up a yellow card of her own two minutes later as the match grew increasingly scrappy in its closing stages.

Despite DC Power's late efforts, Carolina Ascent's defense held firm to secure all three points on the road. The result gives Carolina Ascent a valuable away win as the USL Super League season continues to take shape.
