Niagara 1812 salvaged a dramatic 2–2 draw against Rochester NY FC Academy in NPSL action on Friday, with A. Zarcone's 90th-minute equalizer capping a late comeback after the hosts trailed by two goals for much of the second half. B. McDermott and Zarcone scored for Niagara, while J. Cardona Belalcazar and D. Leardini had Rochester looking comfortable before everything unraveled.

The match was feisty from the start. Rochester's H. Kirk picked up a yellow card in the 10th minute, and Niagara's A. Drca was booked shortly after. Cardona Belalcazar then broke the deadlock in the 22nd minute to give the visitors the lead. Rochester's M. Aviles was cautioned in the 31st minute — a booking that would prove costly later — and Leardini doubled the advantage right before halftime to send Rochester into the break up 2–0.

The second half belonged to Niagara, though it took time to materialize. The turning point came in the 70th minute when Aviles, already on a yellow, was shown a second and sent off. Rochester were reduced to ten men, and Niagara smelled blood. McDermott pulled one back in the 77th minute, and despite A. Burke collecting a yellow card of his own in the 81st minute, the hosts kept pushing. Zarcone completed the fightback in the final minute of regulation, sending the home crowd into a frenzy and denying Rochester what had seemed a certain three points.

The draw extends Niagara 1812's unbeaten run at home but will sting Rochester, who let a two-goal cushion and a commanding position slip after Aviles' dismissal.
