Sacramento Republic FC ground out a 2–0 home victory over FC Tulsa on Saturday, with Frederik Kleemann and Kyle Edwards scoring second-half goals to secure all three points in their USL Championship clash.

The first half produced little in the way of clear-cut action, with neither side finding the back of the net. The pattern continued into the early stages of the second half, though the game began to pick up an edge — Forster Ajago was booked for Sacramento in the 51st minute as challenges grew more competitive.

FC Tulsa's Lamar Batista received a yellow card of his own in the 67th minute, and Sacramento made the visitors pay almost immediately. Just a minute later, Kleemann broke the deadlock, finishing off a Ryan Spaulding delivery to give Republic FC a 1–0 lead. Kleemann was then cautioned himself in the 74th minute, picking up a yellow card that will leave him walking a disciplinary tightrope going forward.

Sacramento doubled their advantage in the 83rd minute when Edwards converted from an Arturo Rodriguez assist, effectively killing the contest. Mark-Anthony Kaye was booked three minutes later as Sacramento picked up a third yellow of the evening — a physical closing stretch that underscored the hosts' willingness to protect their lead at all costs.

FC Tulsa offered little in response and the match ended without further incident.

The win gives Sacramento Republic FC an early-season boost as they look to establish themselves near the top of the USL Championship standings heading deeper into March.
