New Mexico United dismantled Phoenix Rising FC 4–0 at home on Friday night in USL Championship action, with four different scorers — Niall Reid-Stephen (45+1'), Ousman Jabang (53'), Valentin Noël (70'), and Dayonn Harris (85') — putting the visitors to the sword across a dominant second-half display.

Phoenix held firm for most of the opening 45 minutes, but New Mexico broke through right at the death of the first half. Reid-Stephen found the net in first-half stoppage time, finishing off a delivery from Christopher Gloster to send the hosts into the break with a 1–0 lead.

That goal proved to be just the beginning. Jabang doubled the advantage eight minutes into the second half, and from there New Mexico never looked back. Noël made it three in the 70th minute, converting from a Cristian Nava pass to effectively kill the contest. Phoenix Rising's frustration boiled over moments later when Collin Smith picked up a yellow card in the 76th minute, and the visitors offered little resistance from that point on. Harris completed the rout in the 85th minute, adding a fourth to cap a comprehensive victory.

Phoenix rarely threatened throughout and failed to generate enough to trouble a New Mexico side that looked sharp in the final third and ruthless on the counter. Four goals from four different scorers underlined the depth of attacking quality available.

The emphatic win strengthens New Mexico United's position in the USL Championship standings and sends a clear message to the rest of the Western Conference about their ambitions this season.
