The first half was scoreless but far from uneventful. Brooklyn picked up two bookings before the break — Juan Carlos Obregón Jr. cautioned in the 28th minute and Vuk Latinovich following him into the referee's notebook just before halftime. Louisville's Jansen Wilson was also booked early in the second half, setting the tone for what became an increasingly ill-tempered affair.
