Sacramento Republic FC left it late to steal all three points on the road, beating El Paso Locomotive FC 1–0 thanks to a Memo Rodríguez strike in the 87th minute at Southwest University Park.

The first half was a tightly contested affair with little to separate the two sides. Neill Collins picked up a yellow card in the 22nd minute for Sacramento, and El Paso's Robert Coronado was booked shortly before halftime in the 43rd. Neither team managed to find a breakthrough before the break.

The second half followed a similar pattern, with both defenses holding firm as the match appeared destined for a scoreless draw. That changed three minutes from full time. Mark-Anthony Kaye threaded a pass to Rodríguez, who made no mistake with the finish to give Sacramento a 1–0 lead. It was a cruel blow for El Paso, who had done well to contain Republic FC for so long.

El Paso pushed forward desperately in search of an equalizer. Arturo Ortíz was cautioned deep into stoppage time as the hosts' frustration boiled over, but Sacramento held on comfortably to see out the result.

The late winner gives Sacramento Republic FC a valuable three points on the road and deals a significant blow to El Paso Locomotive FC's hopes of climbing the USL Championship standings as the regular season nears its conclusion.
