Oakland Roots SC came from behind twice before pulling away late to beat FC Tulsa 4–2 on the road in USL Championship action on Saturday. Wolfgang Prentice scored twice for Oakland, with Peter Wilson and Bertin Jacquesson adding goals in the final ten minutes to seal a comprehensive win. William Wilson and Logan Dorsey netted for the hosts.
Tulsa made the brighter start. Wilson opened the scoring in just the third minute, finishing from a Logan Dorsey delivery to give the home side an early advantage. That lead lasted less than 20 minutes. Prentice equalized in the 21st minute, converting a chance created by Peter Wilson to level things at 1–1 heading into the break.
The second half followed a similar script — at least initially. Dorsey restored Tulsa's lead four minutes after the restart, this time on the receiving end of a William Wilson pass to make it 2–1. Again, though, Oakland had an answer. Prentice grabbed his second of the night in the 60th minute, set up by Bertin Jacquesson, to draw the visitors level once more.
From there, the momentum belonged entirely to Oakland. Tulsa had no response when Peter Wilson struck in the 83rd minute to put the Roots ahead for the first time, and Jacquesson added a fourth just four minutes later to put the result beyond doubt. The game was played cleanly throughout, with no bookings issued to either side.
The win marks a statement road result for Oakland Roots SC as the USL Championship season enters its closing stretch.
