Brooklyn FC and Dallas Trinity FC shared the points in a 1–1 draw in USL Super League action on Saturday, with Tziarra King's first-half opener cancelled out by a late Seven Castain equalizer in the 86th minute.
The match's early moments were scrappy. Dallas's Sofía Caicedo picked up a yellow card in the 14th minute, setting an edgy tone. Brooklyn grew into the game from there, and King broke the deadlock on the half-hour mark, finishing from a Jessica Garziano assist to give the hosts a deserved lead heading into the break.
Brooklyn carried that advantage into the second half but couldn't find a second goal to put the result beyond doubt. Discipline became an issue for the home side — Sara D'Appolonia was cautioned in the 58th minute, and Carlee Giammona followed her into the referee's notebook twenty minutes later. Dallas, meanwhile, pushed numbers forward as the clock wound down, sensing vulnerability.
That pressure paid off. With just four minutes of regulation remaining, Castain latched onto a Juliet Moore pass and leveled the score, stealing a point that had looked increasingly unlikely for most of the second half. It was a gut punch for Brooklyn, who had managed the game well for long stretches but ultimately could not hold on.
The draw leaves both sides searching for the kind of consistency that wins titles, with dropped points from winning positions a particular concern for Brooklyn FC as the season progresses.
