Union Omaha rallied from behind to beat AV ALTA FC 3–1 at home on Wednesday night, scoring three unanswered goals in a 13-minute blitz to turn the USL League One contest on its head.

AV ALTA FC struck first. Adam Aoumaich opened the scoring in the 31st minute, converting from a Jerry Desdunes assist to give the visitors a deserved halftime lead. Union Omaha went into the break needing answers.

The second half was a scrappy affair early on. Camron Lawrence picked up a yellow card in the 52nd minute, and teammate Brent Kallman followed him into the referee's notebook five minutes later. Union Omaha looked unsettled and struggled to find a rhythm against an organized AV ALTA defense.

Then the dam broke. Pato Botello Faz equalized in the 74th minute, finishing from a Younes Boudadi delivery to level the match and inject life into the home side. Seven minutes later, Gabriel de Freitas put Omaha ahead for the first time, striking in the 81st minute — moments after Desdunes was cautioned for AV ALTA. The visitors barely had time to regroup before Aaron Gómez made it three, latching onto an Allen Gavilanes pass in the 87th minute to seal the result.

What had looked like a comfortable evening for AV ALTA FC unraveled spectacularly in the final quarter-hour. The visitors managed the game well for long stretches but simply could not cope once Union Omaha found its groove.

The comeback win gives Union Omaha valuable points as the League One season moves deeper into the summer stretch, reinforcing their credentials as a side that refuses to be counted out.
